Business Development Manager

Our client is an award winning, mid-size full service packaging, point
of sale, promotions and sales communications company based in Markham.
They have a client list of popular name brands primarily in the retail
and consumer packaged goods industries.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Client Services the New Business Development
Manager will be responsible for achieving sales volume and margin objectives.
They are looking for someone who can land key accounts and build lasting
relationships. As this is a client-facing role, this person needs to ‘be
the brand’ for or client. This person is expected to manage their
own schedule, spending over 50% of their time out of the office selling
and meeting with clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate new business opportunities;
• Manage projects from concept to completion;
• Working with CPG clients, retail buyers, promotion managers, designers,
logistics and/or outside suppliers to develop the foundation for in-store
promotion recommendations, product plans and marketing proposals;
• Work with others on team initiatives;
• Achievement of agreed-to performance objectives;
• Developing and recommending plans and programs to achieve the
agreed-to objectives;
• Conducting client head-office meetings/presentations and appropriate
field calls to ensure that programs are being executed;
• Contributing to the identification and development of new business
opportunities when/where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Marketing degree/diploma or equivalent;
• Strong promotional experience and retail merchandising understanding
is essential;
• A solid background in printing, graphic design, promotion, print
production and selling to consumer packaged goods and consumer products
accounts;
• A self-motivated, talented and high-energy individual;
• 3 to 10 years of selling experience in the Graphic Design and/or
Promotion industries (not trinkets and trash);
• Good communication skills (written and verbal);
• The able to professionally manage, present and sell to high level
executives;
• The candidate must have a dynamic personality with a sense of
urgency, and know how cultivate the “big deal”.
