Consumer Insights Manager

The Consumer Insights Manager will liaise with internal and external clients, and is accountable for the design, development and delivery of research solutions that drive business results. Reports and presentations are delivered in client friendly language and include research results, insights, and recommendations on how to improve program performance, integrate results and insights from client's analytics plus modeling solutions where available. This role leads projects and manages a functional area, so no prior staff supervisory experience is required. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and execute market research projects (brief, proposal, work flow, resource needs, survey design, field, analysis, report generation, presentation)
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Consumer Acquisition teams to foster productive relationships with clients through project scoping, design and solution delivery
• Present results and recommendations through the development of user-friendly reports and presentations; integrate consumer insights from client's analytics, modeling, & research solutions where available

• As Research Subject Matter Expert, leverage market knowledge and consumer insights to provide counsel

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6-8 years of directly related work experience in quantitative research and analysis
• Experience in FMCG, Rx/Health, and/or Direct Response industry sectors
• Knowledge in a broad array of consumer research methods related to consumer targeting, segmentation, clustering, and promotion effectiveness. Competency in research survey design
• Superior ability to interpret data to derive actionable insights & recommendations
• Well-versed in a range of statistical techniques; working knowledge of basic analytic & modeling applications
• Inquisitive by nature with a passion for numbers and analytical challenges; excellent statistical, analytical, and problem solving skills

SRM’s will act as a Project Owner to oversee end-to-end project management of market research studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as the key liaison between the client and our client on their own initiative and answer client questions/requests on research studies.
• Design research questionnaires to meet client objectives with little direction from senior staff.
• Prepare client presentations from own interpretation of data. Attend, and participate in, presentations while accompanied by other team members.
• Compose research reports with little direction from team leaders.
• Responsible for developing individual job costs, monitoring job costs throughout a project and ensuring profitability.

QUALIFICATONS:

Broadcast Director of Research (Radio & Online)

Our client is looking for a new Research Director for Audience Measurement of Radio Broadcasting and Online Audience Tracking. This is a Team Leader role responsible for a mix of: 70% audience measurement using BBM, MediaMatrix and HBX combined with 30% custom and ad-hoc, Qual and Quant research. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the projects and staff assigned to design, implement, analyse, interpret and present the social science, market, and media research undertaken by the research department. You will oversee, in consultation with the Sr. Director, the design or selection from external suppliers of the most appropriate, and cost effective research approach to achieve the companies corporate and programming objectives on all media platforms. Logic/Programming

  • Demonstrating advanced programming capabilities and serving as a resource to the team by:
    • quickly analyzing and comprehending survey logic requirements on complex surveys based upon your prior knowledge of, and exposure to, a wide variety of market research survey programming projects 
    • developing the optimal logical approach to programming even with difficult survey projects
    • fully understanding the impact of programming approaches on data structure
    • programming difficult projects
  • Providing valuable input during project kick-off meetings/conference calls

Testing and Quality Control

  • Testing and performing final checks on projects in preparation for field (i.e. “final sign off”) including:
    • logic and script review
    • testing respondent interface
    • data map review
    • data checking

Project Coordination

  • Providing direction and guidance to other programmers on project specific items
  • Acting as back-up for the Team Leader as needed  (note: interaction with clients is not a requirement, but for those who are ready it can be part of the role)
  • Liaising with Project Managers on specified projects

QUALIFICATONS:

Education:  Post secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science/Programming 
Experience:

  • Minimum of two years experience with CATI or online programming in the Market Research industry
  • Demonstrated Quality Control ability and accountability
  • Track record of producing highly complex market research survey programming logic

  • Act as project leader for individual research studies with ownership for the quality of the overall execution
    • Receive and review all materials related to a research project
    • Work with clients to clarify survey logic, questions, etc. and to optimize their studies for online field execution
    • Direct assigned internal team members, external sample partners and other suppliers (i.e. translators, data processors, etc.) to execute client studies with excellence
    • Monitor progress of studies and lead corrective action with sample partners, internal team members, and other suppliers where needed
    • Manage and maintain quotas
    • Develop a working knowledge of our reporting software – reporting, downloading data files, filters, quotas, etc. – needed to effectively manage a project
    • Provide regular status updates to clients for the duration of a project
  • Administrative: track and report all expense components related to specific client research projects
